How to remove and replace the alternator on 2006 Mazda 6?

Disconnect the negative battery cable, loosen the right front wheel, raise and secure the vehicle. Remove wheel, splash shield, upper engine cover and drivebelt. Remove model-specific alternator ducts/brackets, disconnect the alternator B+ and connector, remove alternator and shield. When replacing, match terminals/pulley; reinstall in reverse, reconnect battery and verify charging.
