How to disconnect and remove the center console on 2006 Mazda 6?

Unscrew off the negative battery terminal. Select a trim removal tool and apply it to the center trim panel and unscrew the shift knob. In 2010 and beyond models, all the clips must be prised up prior to removal. Retilize the seats to reach console fasteners after which the console can be removed and the electrical connectors disconnected.
