How to remove and install the valve cover on 2014 Mazda MX-5 Miata?

In 2005 and prior years, unscrew the negative battery cable, unscrew the PCV valve and breather hose and pull out spark plug wires. Wipe clean mating surfaces then install a new valve cover gasket using sealant. In 2006 and other models, disconnect negative battery terminal, remove engine cover and repeat the procedure with valve cover installation.
