Unplug the cable on the negative battery terminal. Relax the front wheel lug nut, lift the car and hold it firmly on jackstands then detach the front wheels. Take out the splash shield mounting fasteners and remove the splash shield(s). In the case of the front bumper cover, you have to first detach the upper mounting fasteners of the radiator support, followed by the bottom splash shield and radiator support splash shield. Then unfasten the
Fender splash shields and inner fender to the bumper cover, unplug the electrical connectors in the fog lamps (where present) and the inner fenderwell back to release the bumper cover-to-fender mounting fastener. The fender has three mounting fasteners on its edge on 2010 and subsequent models. First of all, unplug the bumper cover mounting tabs in the upper rear edges to the lower edge slots in the front fenders, by pulling the bumper cover outwards, beginning at the fender side and pulling towards the center. Check with a final look with a flashlight to see that the bumper cover is thoroughly uncovered, all the electrical connectors are uncomingled and all the wiring harnesses are clear of the area. Installation is the opposite of removal with the help of removing the front bumper cover. In the case of the rear bumper cover, firstly, take out the taillight housing assemblies, lift the rear part of the vehicle and put it on jackstands. Take off the mounting fasteners of the rear of the wheel wells, then in the taillight area, take off the pin-type fastener and bolt on each upper corner of the rear bumper cover then the mounting fasteners of the underside of the rear bumper cover. Once more, do a final check with a flashlight to make sure that the bumper cover is fully removed, all of the electrical connections are loose and that all of the wiring harnesses were safely clear. Installation can be done in the same direction as removal with some help, except that, when replacing the bumper cover, you must have help attaching the cover to the vehicle against falling.
