These models include a Body Control Module (BCM) which interconnects a number of systems to allow easy and precise troubleshooting of the model using a professional quality scan tool. The BCM has the door locks, power windows, ignition lock and security system, interior lights, Daytime Running Lights, horn, windshield wipers, heating/air conditioning, and power mirrors. A vehicle should be diagnosed by a service department of a dealership or a trained automotive repair center in case of a malfunction. The two motors used in the adjustment of the electric side view mirrors are one that is vertical and the other one is horizontal. The control switch has a type of a switch which directs the voltage either to the left or right mirror. In the ACC ignition and the engine off, roll the windows open and use all functions of the mirror control switch on both mirrors with the engine off and by listening to the sound of the electric motors. When the motors are audible but the mirror glass is not moving, there is a possibility that the drive mechanism at the inside of the mirror is faulty thus the entire mirror needs to be replaced. In case the mirrors are not functioning and the sound is not received, it is necessary to check fuses. Where fuses are not broken, the continuity test of the mirror control switch should be done by a qualified shop by removing the switch. Checks should also be done on ground connections and in case the mirror is not functioning, the mirror must be removed to check wires on whether it has a voltage. When there is no voltage present in each switch position, the circuit between the mirror and control switch should be investigated to be open and shorted. When in power, the mirror can be checked out of the car using some jumper wires and it is necessary to change the mirror in case of failure.
