To replace the outside mirror, start by prying off the mirror control handle screw cover, removing the handle shaft screw, and taking off the handle. Next, detach the mirror cover inside the door using a small screwdriver to pry it free. Remove the mirror retaining screws from inside the door to detach the mirror. For power outside mirrors, after detaching the mirror cover and removing the retaining screws, unplug the power mirror electrical connector, which may require removing the door trim panel and peeling back part of the water shield for access. If needed, check or repair the power mirror switch by detaching it from the instrument panel, and then installation is the reverse of removal. For mirror glass replacement on 1990 through 1994 manual and power types, use a hot air blower to heat the mirror, adjust it for accessibility, and carefully pry it loose with a thin scraper while keeping it hot. Remove any remaining adhesive from the back of the mirror glass, warm the frame, and gently press the new mirror glass in place, allowing it to cool before driving. For 1995 and later power mirrors, push at the top of the mirror glass, pull the bottom to remove it from the housing, and install the new mirror by hooking the top onto the frame and pressing the sides and bottom into place.
