Mazda 6 Antenna

Mazda 6 Antenna provides the sedan with sharp entertainment and communication signals in capturing radio waves and sending them to the receiver, whereby an amplifier enhances sound in AM, FM, and satellite channels. The device is made up of a thin steel tube twisted together with wires that transforms unseen energy in the air into electric current that the audio system can convert to sound. Over the years Mazda has fitted its midsize car with 3 major styles. Internal versions are concealed in the windshield, dash, or trunk to maintain clean body appearances and minimize the risk of vandalism, although the concealed location can make them slightly difficult to access. The ubiquitous external mast, made of metal or fiberglass and mounted to the side of the hood or rear deck, is broadly omnidirectional and can be replaced easily, but early 45-inch masts have had to be hand-pushed when needing to fit into a garage. It prefers shorter, fixed stubs that slice through wind without manual control in modern models. In the case of digital broadcasts, a small pod-like rooftop satellite Antenna provides the optimal sound because of its elevated nature and it is not impeded by sheets of sheet metal. All the Antenna in a Mazda transmit electromagnetic signals to the cabin regardless of the style so that drivers can scroll without any static. The new developments in the Mazda product line, such as the 6 series, are based on a gradual transition towards smooth, low profile solutions balancing reception, design, and performance.

Mazda 6 Antenna Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How is the rear window mounted antenna serviced and what are the steps involved in removing and replacing it on Mazda 6?
    A:
The rear window mounted antenna is an integral component of the rear window and cannot be serviced separately. For the center roof antenna on 2008 and earlier models, carefully pry out the C-pillar trim and center trim from the side of the rear windshield, remove the rear seats, and the rear map light if equipped. Next, remove the plastic push pin fasteners around the trunk liner and take out the liner. Pull the rear section of the headliner down far enough to access the antenna, disconnect the electrical connectors, and remove the antenna mounting nut to take out the antenna, with installation being the reverse of removal. To remove the center roof antenna mast, unscrew it from the base, with installation also being the reverse. For the antenna amplifier, pry out the C-pillar trim and center trim from the side of the rear window, remove the rear map light if equipped, and pull down the rear section of the headliner to access the amplifier. Disconnect the electrical connectors, remove the mounting screws, and take out the amplifier, with installation being the reverse. The antenna cable consists of three cables: front, middle, and rear. The front cable connects to the middle cable at the base of the A-pillar, which runs up through the A-pillar along the roof edge and down to the C-pillar, connecting to the rear cable. The rear cable runs from the C-pillar back up to the roof and across to the antenna. Replacing any of these cables requires removing the A-pillar, B-pillar, C-pillar, roof trim, and headliner, a procedure recommended only for experienced do-it-yourselfers due to its difficulty.
