Raise the rear of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands, then remove the cable clip. Next, take out the trailing brake shoe assembly and disconnect the cable from the shoe operating lever. Remove the retaining bolts and the adjusting nut to take the cable assembly out of the vehicle. For installation, reverse the removal process, applying white lithium base grease to the cable grommet before installation. After installing, turn the adjusting nut until the equalizer is at a 90° angle to the front brake cable.
