To remove the hose, initially empty the current antifreeze and the engine coolant by opening the radiator and the radiator drain petcock or disconnect the bottom radiator hose at the radiator drain so that pets cannot drink the coolant of the fresh toxic ethylene glycol. Penetrating lubricant should be applied to the radiator petcock then opened. The second step is to loosen the clamps on both ends of the hose to be removed and pull away the hose off the connections. Clamp the ends of the new hose and insert the hose on the connections and screw the clamps, and make sure that they are pushed over any beads on the connections. Lastly, replenish the cooling system coolant, start the engine and inspect the hose fittings of any leakages.
