Different vehicle models have a dissimilar instrument cluster, to install and remove it, first unplug the battery ground cable. In the pickup, unscrew the cluster mesh hood and take off the cluster pod unscrewing wiring connectors and removing screws to remove the speedometer cable. Take out the trip meter knob and any other knob that may be there then undo the lens cover and bezel then the plate that warns. In models that have a tachometer, the fuel gauge and printed circuit board can be removed in a certain order so the installation process is the opposite of the removal of parts. On the MPV, to remove the instrument cluster, after unconnection of the negative battery cable, use a prying tool to lift the trim panel and screws of the instrument cluster hood then unplug the wiring harness connectors and then remove the instrument cluster. Installation requires routing of the transmission range indicator wire, connection of the speedometer cable, and fixing the cluster, then reconnecting of the hood assembly and trim panel. In the case of the Navajo, it is necessary to remove steering column shroud and lower instrument panel trim then remove cluster trim cover and retaining screws. To remove the cluster assembly, loosen the back of the cluster by disconnecting the speedometer cable and wiring harness, and removing the cluster assembly. Installation can be made by applying silicone dielectric compound to the speedometer head, attaching wiring harness, screwing in the cluster, and then attaching trim covers and steering column shroud, and finally attaching battery ground cable checking the functionality of all gauges and indicators.
