To take out the door glass on pickups, begin by removing the door panel, and cut off the weather screening, taking it back to use. Put the glass in a way to reach the mounting screws in the door frame and take them out, and then the inner and outer weatherstripping. The second step is to remove the mounting bolt of the glass guide, raise the glass straight up and out of the door then remove the mounting bolts to remove the regulator assembly. To install, follow the reverse process and re-position the door glass to fit into the door. In the case of MPVs, it is important to first, remove the door trim panel and support bracket followed by the weather screen, speaker and mirror. Take out the front belt line molding, open the window to the glass retaining screws, and pick the glass off of the channel. To a manual regulator, just remove the bolts and pull out the regulator, on a power regulator just remove the bolts and drill out the rivets and then pull out the regulator. Install the new regulator and re-fit parts in reverse sequence with new rivets on power regulators. In the case of the Navajo, begin by removing the door trim panel, and the speaker, as needed and then removing the screw of the division bar and a weather strip. Take off the vent window screwing, push down the glass to take out of the run retainer, and push the front of the glass down to take out the back glass run retainer. In case of any retaining rivets, remove them neatly, otherwise, extract the glass by taking it off with the help of a glass removal tool via the belt. Installation requires the installation of the glass spacer and retainer in the retention holes, the glass in the door and the retaining holes aligned, then the rivets are installed. Take the glass to full position, fit the rear glass run retainer and weatherstrips into it and ensure smooth functioning before fitting the trim panel back again. To the regulator, pop out the door trim panel together with watershield, and go ahead and remove the inside door belt weatherstrip and glass stabilizer as well as the door glass. Unscrew the nuts which are attached to the equalizer bracket and strip off the rivets that fix the regulator base plate to the door. The regulator and glass bracket assembly should be removed, the tab flattened to eliminate the air slides and new plastic guides fitted into the C-channel, bending the tab back to its original shape. In case of removal of the counterbalance spring, make sure that regulator arms are fastened in place to avoid injury. To install, fit the assembly of glass bracket and regulator, fit it into the door, and attach the base plate with the locator tab, fit the regulator with new rivets or bolts, refit the equalizer bracket, door belt weatherstrip, and glass stabilizer, and verify the operation of the glass before aligning the trim panel of the door.
