Mazda Coolant Level Sensor

The Mazda Coolant Level Sensor continuously measures the amount of coolant in the vehicle. In case the level of the coolant falls below effective levels, it warns the driver. This ensures that any commute, whether day to day or spirited driving, takes place trouble free. Mazda did not have to wait long to thrill motorists with rotary power and continues its quest for efficiency through SKYACTIV engines and lightweight chassis and the elegant KODO design language that makes every curve look alive. Mazda's commitment to i-ACTIVSENSE technology for adaptive safety continues. Steering is precise and accurate, cabins are well-crafted and refined, and it is experimenting with electric and hybrid options so that any future models stay clean and green yet fun to drive. Mazda also offers available i-ACTIV all-wheel drive that studies road grip and varies torque in milliseconds, giving you added confidence on slick city streets or mountain switchbacks. The overall strengths of these brands create cars that feel sporty, efficient, and stylish. The Coolant Level Sensor is located in the radiator or overflow tank, where liquid touches its probe. It responds to resistance changes in order to detect if liquid still surrounds the tip. When the fluid level drops, the unit activates a circuit that illuminates an icon on the dashboard to notify the driver to top up before the heat hurts the gaskets or warpage begins. Since the Coolant Level Sensor never pumps or cools, it is designed to report quickly and with certainty. As a result, it can quietly monitor any full Mazda. Should the device malfunction, a motor might run low on coolant without notice, making reliable operation essential to long engine life.

Mazda Coolant Level Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q:
How to replace the Coolant Level Sensor at the top of the radiator on Mazda RX-7?
    A:
To begin with, remove the bullet connector to the sensor on top of the radiator. After relieving all the pressure in the system, remove the radiator cap using a cloth wrapped around the cap as a safety measure. Using a wrench, take off the sensor that is located at the top of the radiator. When fitting the new sensor, tighten it to a torque of 13 to 21 in-lb (15 to 25 cm-kg), as increased torque may damage the radiator tops. Once the wiring connector has been connected to the sensor, install the radiator cap and start the engine. Let the engine run to its proper operating temperature and check for leaks around the sensor.
