In order to install and remove the blower motor of the MX-3, 1990-94 323 and Protege, you need to disconnect the negative battery cable first. Lift off the glove box, loosen the screws that hold the glove box assembly and then remove the glove box assembly. The second step is to take out the inner glove box and the inner glove box screws. Unscrew and disassemble the heater blower seal plate, unscrew the three heater blower mounting nuts and case of the blower. Removal of screws divides the half of the blower unit case followed by the removal of the blower fan of the blower motor including the mounting screws of the blower motor to disattach the blower motor and blower unit case. To install it, one should reinsert the blower motor into the case and fasten it with screws and then attach the blower fan to the motor. Attach one half of the blower unit case to the other half and affix the screws, the heater blower unit case to the car, screwing the mounting nuts. Install the heater blower seal plate, inner glove box assembly, glove box door and lastly reconnect negative battery cable. On the 1990-92 626 and MX-6, the next step is to disconnect the negative battery cable then take out the glove box and the under dash cover. Unscrew the electrical connectors of the blower unit, unscrew the bolts which hold the attaching parts, and unscrew the blower unit assembly. You are to disconnect the blower motor-to-unit attaching bolts and the blower motor-to-motor fastener, and then remove the motor, and reverse the process upon re-installation. In the case of the 1993-98 626/MX-6/Probe, 1995-98 Protege, and Millenia, detach the negative battery cable, and, when necessary, the sound deadening panel on the passenger side. Remove the glove box assembly, and any brace, as fitted, and then remove the cooling air hose of the blower motor assembly and remove the electrical connector. Use three screws to loosen the blower motor to the housing and remove the blower motor. In case of need, taken off the blower wheel clip and the wheel and retrace the steps of taking off and installing it back and ensure the blower motor has started.
