Removing and installing the oil pan on different models of engines requires the following steps: to start with, it is necessary to disconnect the negative battery cable and then safely support the vehicle. In the case of the 1990-94 1.6L and 1.8L engines, with or without the engine undercover, drain oil and loosen the exhaust pipe on the manifold and catalytic converter. In certain models, take the integrated stiffener and main bearing support/stiffener plate off before the oil pan before making sure not to scrape off the gasket surfaces. Wipe all parts clean and apply silicone sealer to the main bearing support/stiffener plate and attach it once again. In the event that it happens, you can install the oil strainer using a new gasket, apply silicone on the oil pan, and install it, screwing the bolts accordingly. In case of 1.5L and 1.8L engines, the procedure is the same and the engine must be cleaned and sealed with the correct amount of torque being applied to all bolts. In the case of 2.2L engine, it is required to remove the required parts, clean the oil pan, and put silicone sealant before attaching it again. Finally, in the case of the 1.8L (K8), the 2.0L, 2.3L, and 2.5L engines, empty the oil, disconnect the oxygen sensor and adhere to the cleaning and sealing steps and then re-fit the oil pan assembly and related parts. Once it is installed, pour in the appropriate type of oil in the engine, re-attach the battery and ensure the engine does not leak when starting up.
