Mazda MPV Suspension Strut Rod Parts and Q&A

  • Q:
How to properly remove and inspect the Suspension Strut Rod on Mazda MPV?
    A:
The first step is to loosen the wheel lug nuts. Next, raise the front of the vehicle. Finally, support the vehicle securely on jack stands. To prevent the vehicle from rolling off the jack stands, apply the parking brake and block the rear wheels, then remove the wheels. Loosen the nut on the back side of the Suspension Strut Rod. DO NOT REMOVE bushing bracket bolts yet. Also disconnect stabilizer bar link and Suspension Strut Rod-to-control arm bolts. Remove the stabilizer bar from the Suspension Strut Rod, keeping the nuts along with retaining bushing and spacer on link-bolt in order for later assembly. To remove the bolts attaching the Suspension Strut Rod to the control-arm, first, disconnect the stabilizer bar link bolt and the three Suspension Strut Rod-to-lower arm bolts. After that, extract the bolts from the bushing bracket of the Suspension Strut Rod and remove the rod. Examine the rubber bushing for cracks, degradation, or leakage, and replace the rubber bushing if it is worn or damaged. To install the item, reverse order of removal.
