Put the rear on jackstands and lift it up. Discharge the
Differential lubricant. In older models, the
Axle Shaft is gently removed using 2 prybars, being careful not to scrape the aluminum diff housing. Prepare to receive the product of the shaft. Use a seal removal tool or screwdriver to pry out the seal making sure not to gouge the seal bore. Install the new seal, and use a hammer and a seal driver, huge socket, or section of pipe, making sure it is tapped firmly into the bore with a tool of the same diameter as the seal. Fit a new cir clip on the splined end of the axle shaft. Smear the lips of the seal with a layer of differential oil, and fit the axle shaft on the early models. Fill it with oil in the differential.
