In 2005 and older models, the first step is to undo the connection of the cable with the negative battery terminal. The next step involves taking out the steering wheel then the top and bottom covers of the steering column as well as the instrument cluster bezel. Next, remove the instrument cluster with screws attached and withdraw the cluster unit off the dashboard, make sure to remove the screws on the cluster mounting to unplug the cable on the speedometer. When the cable to the speedometer makes noise, lubrication can be added to the cable by applying lithium grease or any other appropriate lubricant in the cable housing when it has been removed. Once the electrical connectors are unplugged, the cluster should be removed and the reverse of that should be carried out during the installation process. Starting with 2006 and subsequent models, remove the steering column covers, cluster trim panel and knee bolster trim panel. Next, remove the three instrument cluster mounting screws which are found at the bottom right and bottom left corner of the cluster. In order to remove the cluster, all electrical connections on the backside are to be pulled out and installation to the opposite.
