The PCV valve is found in the cover of the camshaft. When the engine has been idled to normal operating temperature, remove the valve (with hose) at the rubber grommet in the cover of the camshaft. Put your finger on the end of the valve; when the engine speed decreases, it means that the valve is functioning well. However, when the engine speed does not decrease, it means that the valve is not functioning correctly and should be replaced. To change the valve, remove it at the end of the hose, noting its position and direction of installation. When replacing, make sure that it fits your vehicle, model year, and engine size, and compare the old valve and new one to ensure they are the same. Insert the valve into the end of the hose until it is seated, check the rubber grommet to ensure that no damage has occurred, and change the grommet where necessary. Lastly, insert the PCV valve and hose firmly into the PCV.
