The windshield wiper motor is located in the engine compartment left and the rear wiper motor can be located in the rear hatchback door on a hatch back. To verify the washer switch, in case the motor does not turn on or does not park properly even when the wiper switch works correctly the relay or motor should be replaced. Start by removing the cable or cable connector off the negative battery terminal and unplug electric connector of the wiper motor. Open the retaining nut on the wiper arm by taking off the wiper arm plug and nut cover and then lifting off the arm off the shaft. Then remove the cowl grille using the fastener cover buttons and screws and then the wiper baffle on the driver side. Loosen the wiper motor driving shaft nut and detach the arm. To remove the wiper motor and motor bracket assembly, mark the wiper motor bracket position and unbolt the retaining bolts then lower and be removed. In the case of rear wiper motor, you have to take out the wiper arm first then remove the nuts and washers of the shaft spindle, and clean up the splines of the spindle before putting the wiper arms back in. Disconnect the electrical connector, unscrew the wiper connection and loosen the fixing bolts, then lift the motor using the rear hatch accessed hole in a piece. Reinstallation is done in the opposite sequence of elimination.
