Lift up the glass and take out the interior panel of trim. Gently use a plastic water shield to pry the shield off the door, making sure that it does not separate at the bottom because it is glued. The door lock mechanism is on the inside back part of the door on the rear jam; through the opening of the access go and see where each push rod intersects the lock assembly; mark a sketch or identification number on adhesive tape to trace it. The locking arm can be used counter-clockwise to loosen all the plastic clips and then pull out the rod. Disconnect the push rod which connects to the key cylinder, outside handle, inside handle, and the lock button. Unscrew the three door lock attaching screws on the exterior door frame and remove the lock with the service hole. Install a new door lock assembly before attaching it and the outer nylon bushing. Install all push-rods back into their place on the lock and test the workability of the lock assembly with the outside one, key cylinder, inside lock button and inside handle. In case of a proper functioning, align the water shield again with the new adhesive of the weather stripping and fix the trim panel.
