Put the selector lever in the "N" position. Then, lift the vehicle and support it on jack stands. The inhibitor switch is located on the left side of the transmission, just forward of the downshift solenoid and vacuum diaphragm; loosen the switch attaching bolts without removing them. Take off the tiny screw on the switch casing, turn the switch then insert an alignment pin of 0.078 in (0.2 mm) in the alignment hole into the hole of the internal rotor. After tightening the switch mounting bolts, the alignment pin shall be removed and the screw replaced in the switch housing. Finally, lower the vehicle and confirm that the automobile will start in the "P" or "N" positions only.
