Brake Disc/parking brake drum, inspecting it against score marks, deep grooves, hard spots and cracks, worn or damaged it can be resurfaced at an automotive machine shop. To install the shoes follow the same process in reverse, only, this time, fit the screw so that the disc would fit over the new shoes without rubbing as it did last time. Where there is a brake shoe adjusting gauge, the diameter of the shoes should be set at 0.042-inches smaller than the drum surface of the rear brake disc. Brake Calipers are then installed. Take out the rubber plug in the brake backing plate and turn the screw star wheel that is the adjusting screw with a screwdriver or brake adjusting tool till the parking brake shoes begin to drag and then turn it off until the shoes no longer drag. Lastly, assemble the rear wheels and lug nuts, lower the vehicle and screw the lug nut to the required torque.
