To take off the wheel, loosen the lug nuts first, raise the vehicle and place it on jackstands to ensure that it is firmly supported and then remove the wheel. The second step is to remove the brake caliper (be careful not to disconnect the hose) and the brake disc followed by detaching the brake hose to the strut but leave the caliper suspended on the coil spring with wire. When fitted with ABS, take out the wheel speed sensor. In the case of 2012 and earlier models, the strut-to-steering knuckle nuts and bolts can be loosened without replacement. Unscrew the tie-rod end and the steering knuckle arm and remove the balljointto steering knuckle pinch bolt. With 2012 and older models, it is necessary to take the driveaxle/hub nut off, and to push the driveaxle through the hub with the help of wire. Take the balljoint off and the steering knuckle off and the steering brake disc shield off. In the case of 2012 and earlier, the strut-to-knuckle bolts are now removable. In 2013 and subsequent models, omit the steering knuckle-to-strut pinch bolt and apply penetrating oil to the area of contact of the strut and knuckle and allow it to absorb. Dislocate the steering knuckle and the strut, knocking with a mallet, and force the knuckle out of the hub, propping it with a piece of wire. It is recommended not to use a chisel to open a joint between the pinch to the gap on the 2013 and subsequent models. Installation involves inserting the knuckle and hub assembly, making sure the driveaxle is pushed in the hub. In 2012 and older models, the knuckle should be inserted into the strut flange and the bolts and nuts should be fitted but not tightened. In 2013 and succeeding models push the knuckle on to the strut and position the blade on the strut on the gap in the pinch of the knuckle. Attach the balljoint to the knuckle and loosen the pinch bolt / nut to the required torque. Install the tie-rod on steering knuckle arm tightening the strut bolt nuts on 2012 and below models or knuckle-to-strut pinch bolt on 2013 and above models, and the tie-rod nut to the torque values. Mount the brake disc shield, disc and caliper. Install the driveaxle/hub nut and attach it to the torque. Lastly, fit in the wheel and lug nuts, lower the vehicle, and fit the lug nuts to the torque, including ensuring that the lugaxle /hub nut is also fastened to the torque. The front-end alignment is advised to be checked and adjusted in case of need.
