Intake Manifold Installation and Repair Tips for 1988 Mazda B2200

  • Q:
How should you safely release fuel pressure and remove the intake manifold on fuel injected and carbureted engines on 1988 Mazda B2200?
    A:
On fuel-injected models fuel remains under pressure, so relieve system pressure before disconnecting lines; avoid smoking or sparks. For carbureted engines disconnect the negative battery, drain cooling system and remove air cleaner, cables, hoses and intake manifold. Clean surfaces, fit new gaskets, tighten in sequence, reconnect and check for leaks.
