How to test and replace the Mechanical fuel pump on 1988 Mazda B2200?
A:
The 2.2L engine with a 2.2L manual transmission has a mechanically driven pump on the cylinder head. To check, disconnect battery and fuel line, attach a gauge of pressure and check the pressure of fuel when idle. To be removed, disattach hose and mounting bolts, and attach new gaskets and fix the pump. Lastly, re-connect all and check on the leakage.
