Knock Sensor Installation and Repair Tips for 2004 Mazda 6

  • Q:
How to replace the knock sensor on 2004 Mazda 6?
    A:
On four-cylinder models, the knock sensor is found on the front side of the block behind the intake manifold. Unscrew the negative battery terminal, peel off the intake manifold and the knock sensor. In V6 cars, detach the battery, lift the vehicle and repeat the process. In 3.7L models, take out intake manifolds and 2 knock sensors and put back in that order.
