How to replace the rear crankshaft seal on 1988 Mazda 929?

On GLC and 626 models the engine can stay if only the rear main seal is replaced but must be removed if the bearing is replaced. Remove the transaxle, pull old seal, clean and lubricate surfaces, press in new seal. Other models require press tools, battery disconnect and gaskets.
