  • Q: How to remove and install a timing belt on 1997 Mazda MPV?
    A: To remove the timing belt, disconnect the negative battery cable and drain coolant. Remove hoses, ducts, shroud, fan, pulley, label and remove spark plug wires, then remove AC idler. Set piston at TDC, remove drivebelts, raise vehicle, remove crankshaft pulley and timing covers, relieve tension and slide the belt off.
