To start with, take off the upper engine cover by raising it on each side, then lifting it on the posts that are located in the center. Removing the battery air inlet fasteners and air inlet is done in earlier models and the push-pin fasteners as well as removing the fresh air inlet duct as it is connected to the radiator support is done in later models. Then unscrew the PCV fresh air hose off the air inlet duct then loosen the clamps at the Air Filter Box and
Throttle Body and then unscrew the air inlet duct with the reverse being the same as installing. Cleanse off the air intake duct (removal of the air intake duct) then the air inlet duct. Disconnect the electrical connector with the Mass Air Flow/Intake Air Temperature sensor, remove the air filter top cover in the Air Filter Box and the Air Filter Box. To remove the box, unhook the rubber strap and examine the filter box mounting grommets to confirm the lack of cracks, tears or other forms of deterioration which should be replaced, and installation is the opposite of the removal process. In models as of 2009 and below, the bumper must be removed, the mounting fasteners removed and the fresh air duct disassembled, and installation is the converse of the process.
