- Q: What are the steps and tools necessary for replacing spark plugs on Mazda 3?A:The spark plugs are found at the center of the valve cover(s) and a replacement kit normally has a spark plug socket that connects to a ratchet, a range of extensions, and a gap gauge to determine and adjust the gaps in the new spark plugs.
