How to remove and replace the Camshaft Position Sensor and its O-ring on Mazda 3?

Take the battery cover and unplug the cable at the negative end of the battery. This is followed by removing the upper engine cover by lifting it upwards on each side and removing it on the posts of mounting in the center. Unscrew the electrical connector of CMP sensor and disconnect the electrical connector, unscrew the CMP sensor mounting bolt and disassemble the CMP sensor. Check the status of CMP sensor O-ring, in case it is torn, cracked or, otherwise, damaged, change it. Make sure to lubricate sensor O-ring using clean engine oil and it is the opposite of removal.
