Unscrew the lug nuts, lift the car and then hold it up using jack stands and then wring off the wheel. The second step is to take out the tie-rod end and jam nut. With a pair of pliers, take off the outer rack and pinion boot clamp and snip the inner boot clamp using diagonal cutters and slide off the boot. Prior to installation of the new boot, cover the threads and serrations on the end of the steering rod with an overlay of tape to avoid damages to the small end of the new boot. Install new clamps, insert the new boot into the rack and pinion until it fits into the groove of the steering rod. Once the tape is taken off, fit the tie-rod end. To sum up, the last step is to install the wheel and lug nuts, lower the vehicle and tighten the lug nuts to the torque required.
