How to service the Automatic Transmission Oil Cooler on Mazda Tribute?

To service the main cooler on 2013 and later models, lift up and uphold the automobile on jack stands, and drain the cooling system. Take out the battery and the battery tray, loosen the transaxle cooler tube connection by taking out the bolts, and then check on the O-rings to be changed in case of necessity. Unhook the coolant hoses to the transaxle cooler, disconnect the two bolts that hold the cooler to the transaxle and extract the cooler out of the vehicle. To install the valve in the battery tray, unscrew and remove the screw and push-in retainer and then repeat the process in the reverse order topping off the coolant. Finally, in the control valve of the fluid cooler that is attached to the fan shroud, loosen the clamps and disconnect the electrical connector, coolant hoses and loosen the clamps and disconnect the fan and shroud to reach the valve bracket retainers. Unattach the valve bracket with the fan shroud, then reattach it by going through the same process in an opposite manner and do not forget to fill up the coolant as needed.
