To fit and remove the parking brake system to the front pickups and MPV, one has to make sure the parking brake is completely unlocked and then loosen an adjusting nut of the front wireless and the seat(s) where necessary. On MPV, remove the cable cover, lift the vehicle, then pull out the rear cables out of the equalizer, and unscrew the spring then pull out the front cable. Unscrew the bolts of the cable retaining straps and extract the cable and reverse the process and mount back and tighten the parking brake. In the case of the Navajos, lift the vehicle, un-screw the equalizer nut, and pull out the intermediate cable out of the tension limiter and into the front cable. Reduce the vehicle, take off the cable in the control assembly and drag it into the passenger compartment by means of a cord. Installation is done in reverse order including parking brake adjustment. In rear pickups and MPV, make sure that the parking brake is turned off, loosen the adjustment nut, take out the seat(s) and cable cover, lift the car, and unhook the rear cable on the equalizer. Installation Disassemble the wheel assembly, brake drum, and shoes, disconnect the cable to the backing plate, and remove the cable by disconnecting the spring. Install back in reverse order and adjust the parking brake. To the Navajo, it is to release the parking brake control, elevate the vehicle and remove the wheel assembly, brake drum and shoes. Removed the rear parking brake cable attachment at the equalizer, squeeze the prongs to take off the cable housing, and pull the cable out of the parking brake lever. The cable is also installed by passing the cable through the backing plate, fixing it in the lever and connecting the rear cables to the equalizer. Adjust the rear brakes and parking brake tension to suit the situation and make sure that they work properly by pressing and releasing the parking brake a few times. To adjust, you have to make sure that the rear brake shoes are positioned correctly, start the engine, and push the brake pedal backwards. In the case of MPV, leave the parking brake lever cover out and use the nut to turn the parking brake all the way to the corresponding notches, and tighten the locknut. The Navajos will put the vehicle up first, drum brakes first, and then the parking brake on full, and the equalizer nut adjusted to the necessity. To adjust the field, use the parking brake, lift the vehicle, tighten the equalizer nut, and examine cable tension, and nothing to drag when the brake is released.
