Mazda B2200 ABS Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q:
How to test and install an RABS Sensor on Mazda B2200?
    A:
The ABS Sensor can be tested by first taking it out of the axle housing followed by connection of Digital Volt/Ohm Meter (DVOM) to the ABS Sensor terminals where the reading should be between 0.9 and 2.5k Ohms; however, when the result is not in this range, the ABS Sensor must be replaced. To remove and install, start with cleaning the area of the axle housing containing the ABS Sensor thoroughly followed by removing the electrical harness plug and the ABS Sensor hold-down bolt. Draw the ABS Sensor directly out of the axle housing making sure the axle remains clean so that no dirt gets in. Installation: When installing a new ABS Sensor and lubricating the O-ring, apply clean engine oil to the entire O-ring or when reinstalling the old ABS Sensor be sure to clean the ABS Sensor and apply a fresh O-ring that has been coated with clean engine oil. Insert the ABS Sensor carefully into the housing and align the hole on the mounting flange with the threaded hole and then tighten the hold-down bolt to 25-30 ft. lbs. (34-40 Nm) on the Navajo and 12-16 ft. lbs. (16-22 Nm) on the Pickup/MPV.
