Mazda Fuel Rail

Mazda Fuel Rail supplies pressurized gasoline with pinpoint accuracy that allows for spirited driving and low emissions. Mazda has built its name on automobiles that combine efficiency with fun from the first rotary pioneers to today's Skyactiv engines, which squeeze more distance out of every drop of fuel. The company uses its Kodo Soul of Motion styling to give each model a sense of movement even when sitting still, pairs it with i-Activsense safety aids that watch blind spots and nudge the steering when necessary, and experiments with electric drives and mild hybrids to reduce carbon output without dulling the ride. Mazda also perfects its i-Activ AWD for sure footing on slick or rough roads, where every driver feels in touch with the pavement and in control. While these features help round out the experience, the rail under the hood is silent but vitally important throughout the entire lineup. Running parallel to the intake or sitting near the injectors, the Fuel Rail stores the gasoline at carefully controlled pressures so the computer can time each spray to idle, cruise, or hard acceleration. In contemporary direct injection configurations, it can endure over 2,000 bar, atomizing the fuel into ultra-fine mist which burns cleanly and efficiently. Strong materials, precision machining, and consistent pressure make the Mazda Fuel Rail a key element that ensures its performance, reduces its fuel consumption, and supports the fun-to-drive nature that defines every Mazda.

You'll get great performance and real durability when you pick genuine OEM Fuel Rail. Mazda builds these using high-quality materials and official factory methods to ensure they hold up mile after mile. You deserve that Mazda reliability without the headache of cheap knockoffs. It is easy to find exactly what you need in our huge inventory of genuine parts. Plus, every OEM part carries a real manufacturer's warranty for your peace of mind. You will love our low prices too. Order today and we will ship your brand-new parts fast. They often reach your door in just a few days.

Mazda Fuel Rail Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace fuel injectors and reinstall the fuel rail on Mazda 3?
    A:
Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Remove the upper engine cover by pulling it up from each side and lifting it off the mounting posts in the center. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Disconnect the fuel supply line quick-connect fitting from the fuel rail. Disconnect the electrical connectors for all wiring that shares the harness with the fuel injectors, then disconnect the four fuel injector electrical connectors. Remove the fuel rail mounting fasteners, then take out the fuel rail and injectors as an assembly. Use needle-nose pliers to remove each fuel injector retaining clip and take the injector out of its bore in the fuel rail, discarding the upper and lower injector O-rings. It is advisable to replace all O-rings even if only one injector is being replaced. Coat the new upper O-rings with clean engine oil and slide them into place on each injector, then do the same for the lower O-rings. Coat the outside surface of each upper O-ring with clean engine oil and insert each injector into its bore in the fuel rail. Install the injectors and fuel rail assembly on the intake manifold, tightening the fuel rail mounting fasteners securely. The remainder of the installation follows the reverse order of removal. Reconnect the cable to the negative battery terminal. Turn the ignition switch to ON without operating the starter to activate the fuel pump for about two seconds, building up fuel pressure in the lines and rail. Repeat this step two or three times, then check for fuel leaks in the lines, rails, and injectors.
  • Q: How to remove and install fuel injectors and fuel rails on Mazda MX-5 Miata?
    A:
In case of 2005 and older models, it is necessary to relieve the fuel pressure and disconnect the cable with the negative post of the battery. Take out the PCV hose at the valve cover and intake manifold. Working on a 1993 or older model, dismount the hose clamps and hoses on the air valve, unbolt the air valve and remove it on the engine side of the air intake plenum. Take care to label each injector and electrical connector with a felt pen or paint and then take out the electrical connectors and store the harness of the wire, with a small flat blade screwdriver, pressing the lock lever of each connector as you remove it. On 1997 and earlier, remove the vacuum hose at the fuel pressure regulator, disconnect the fuel lines at the fuel pressure regulator, and the fuel rail. Take out the fuel rail mounting bolts, and detach the fuel rail off the injectors. Take the mounting insulators away, pull out the fuel rail and the pressure regulator and pull out the injectors out of their bores and put them aside in a well-marked storage container that they can be reused later should they be needed. In case of using identical injectors, change the grommets and O-rings and fit the fuel injectors in the order of removal in the reverse, and then bend the fuel rail mounting bolts firmly. In 2006 and subsequent models, start by unscrewing the engine cover and depressing the system fuel pressure, this should be followed by disconnection of the cable to the negative battery terminal. Dock the quick connect fitting of the fuel supply line off of the fuel rail, then the electrical connectors off of the ignition coils and the fuel injectors, snapping the harness clips out of it and laying the harness aside. Undo the mounting bolts of the fuel rail and remove the fuel rail and injectors as a unit. Loosen up the clip holding each injector into the fuel rail and take out each injector and discard old injector O-rings. Install the new injector O-rings in lightly oiled condition, lubricate every upper O-ring with clean engine oil, and install the injectors into the fuel rail and hold them using the injector clips. Apply clean engine oil to every lower O-ring, and, being careful not to scuff the lower O-rings, put the fuel rail and injectors in place and screw the fuel rail bolts firmly. Lastly, otherwise, installation is the opposite of removal; turn on the engine and prosecute that there is no leakage.
