- Q:How to replace the battery and program the transmitter for your car key fob on Mazda 3?A:Replacement of the battery, only do it when the Key Fob cannot use the locks at ten feet distance because the normal range of the Key Fob is approximately 30 feet, both key fob and retractable key fob. With a coin, be careful to divide the halves of the case, change the battery and reconnect the half of the case. To program the Key Fob, make sure all the doors are closed and the liftgate is closed and then open the door of the driver.
