Disconnect the cable on the negative on the battery. Disassemble the lower side of the trim panel of the driver side, knee bolster (where fitted), the bottom cover of the upper and bottom cover of the steering column, and also the steering column to the lowest level. Be careful and do not take the ignition switch and the key lock cylinder at the same time because it may harm the steering column. Turn the locking lever down and pull the electrical connector off the ignition switch, and press the release tabs to remove the ignition switch out of the steering column. When installing, make sure that the switch needs to be turned on and on the other hand, it needs to be turned off. In the case of the key lock cylinder, insert a small screwdriver or pick on the release button of the key lock cylinder and remove the key lock cylinder with the ignition key on ACC position. Installation To install the key lock cylinder, position the key lock cylinder into the housing and push it until it clicks. Ensure that the ignition switch is in a good working condition in the OFF, ACC, BIN, and START positions, and fit it in the reverse order of removal. Lock cylinder replacement does not require the lock cylinder to be removed to strip off the illumination ring, but should be disconnected off the illumination ring, the lock tabs disengaged and the illumination ring removed, making sure it clips together during installation.
