To begin the removal process of the front door speaker, first remove the door trim, followed by loosening and removing the screws that hold the speaker into place. Pull the speaker out of the door, detaching the wire harness plug as you do so. to start, detach the negative
Battery Cable, then extract the inner door trim panel. Next, unbolt the speaker retaining screws and pull out the speaker to unplug the electrical connector. When removing and installing the speaker cone (which is the reverse of removal), take care not to damage the cone. To disconnect the negative battery cable first remove rear speakers. On 1990-92 626, MX-6, 1990-94 323, and Protege models, the rear package trim panel must be removed. In all other cases, carefully pry the speaker cover. Subsequently, remove the screws that hold the speaker, disconnect the electrical connector, and remove the speaker. For rear quarter speakers, disconnect the battery negative cable; remove the speaker cover; remove the retaining screws; unplug the electrical connector and remove the speaker. Ensure to handle the speaker carefully to avoid damaging the cone, and install in the reverse of removal.
