In order to inspect throttle valves, divide the air intake duct and
Throttle Body. Have a helper depress the pedal of accelerator all the way as the throttle valves are watched, be sure they are in the fully open position. Once the pedal has been released, ensure that the valves go back to the closed position smoothly. To adjust it, get the engine to its normal operating temperature and switch it off. Press the accelerator pedal twice to the floor and measure the freeplay of the throttle body cable and compare it with the required value. In case of nonconformance of the freeplay, use the nuts at the cable bracket and loosen them and shift them accordingly. Ensure that the throttle valves are completely opened when the accelerator pedal is depressed, and by refining the opening by using the stop bolt towards the top of the accelerator pedal. To replace, disconnect the cable on the negative battery terminal and loosen the cable adjuster locknuts, so as to take the cable out of its mounting bracket behind the throttle body. Swivel the throttle linkage to provide slack to the cable and remove it off the lever. Detach the cable on the top of the accelerator pedal, underneath driver side of the dash, and the end of the cable should be covered by a small plastic bushing. Follow the directions of the cable to the firewall, where it enters the firewall through a little plastic grommet which has locking tabs. Press these tabs and push the grommet through firewall, and then drag the cable through on the engine compartment. Installation is the opposite process of removal.
