Start with a qualified repair facility having the refrigerant discharged and recovered. Disconnect the cable with the negative battery terminal. Lift up the vehicle and firmly fit on jackstands, then under cover engine (when fitted). Placement of a
Radiator to A/C Condenser Protector between the radiator and condenser: You need to have a sheet of cardboard so that it becomes a shield between the radiator and the condenser. In older models of 2005 and earlier, take out the receiver/drier, strip the refrigerant lines and right away cap the outlets to avoid moisture and contamination. Unscrew the mounting nuts and bolts in order to unscrew the condenser. To remove the battery cooling duct and the Powertrain Control Module cooling duct off the radiator and have the power steering cooler line taken off of the condenser without attaching the hoses in models after 2006. In the event of replacing the condenser, take out the receiver/drier, otherwise, this is not necessary. Unconnect the refrigerant lines with the receiver/drier, take off the upper left mounting bracket bolt and mounting bracket and then take off the upper left and upper right condenser mounting bolt. Unscrew the condenser mounting clips of the brackets, and detach the condenser. Inspect the condenser in terms of cracks, damage, leakage of refrigerant, bent fins, and inverted or damaged inlet and outlet. Fix or replace the condenser accordingly. Installation is in the opposite sequence of the removal and it is important to recall to replace with O-rings that are unique to the type of refrigerant that is used and lubricate them with refrigerant oil before fitting. Do not place compressor oil on the fitting nuts and screw the condenser inlet and outlet fittings into place. Lastly, have the system emptied, filled and leak checked by the same shop that emptied it, adding new refrigerant oil to the high pressure side of the compressor, in case the condenser was changed, only using compatible refrigerant oil.
