  Precaution: Before unplugging your battery, make sure that you have the right activation code when using an anti-theft system inside your radio in your car. This process is used on 2005 and older models only; 2006 and more models have an integrated fuel filter as part of the fuel pump/fuel level sending unit and, therefore, cannot be replaced as a unit. The first is to relieve the fuel system pressure followed by the removal of the negative battery cable. Fuel filter is situated behind the fuel tank on the right back of the car. Take out the fuel filter cover and cut off the fuel hoses off the fuel filter. Unscrew the clamp screw and take out the old filter screw in the bracket. Note the inlet and outlet pipes have labels on their end and make sure that the new filter is installed with the right direction. Installation is the doing of the opposite of the removing i.e. ensure to push the fuel lines to the end of the fittings.
