In order to deactivate the airbag module, it is important to switch the ignition key off and disconnect the cable to the negative terminal of the battery and wait at least two minutes. Disassemble the electrical connector of the airbag wiring harness which is situated beneath the dash. The second step is to turn the steering wheel until the wheels are facing straight forward, the ignition key is adjusted to the Lock position and then the key is taken out. Loosen the screws of airbag attaching, or loosen the airbag module of the steering wheel without forgetting to loosen electrical connectors of the module. Then loosen the steering wheel locknut and label the connection between the steering shaft and the hub in order to make the process of reconnecting the steering shaft easier and the wheel run straight. Unscrew the steering wheel and swing it left and right where necessary and a steering wheel puller when the steering wheel is stuck. To install, make sure that the front wheels are facing forward, then make sure that the mark on the steering wheel hub places with the mark on the shaft and slide the wheel over the shaft. Install the nut and tighten it to desired level of torque. Install electrical connector to airbag module, and locking tab, and make sure that airbag module electrical connector is properly fitting without interruption and then attach the airbag module and screw the retaining screws to required torque. Lastly, reattach the negative battery cable and the airbag wiring harness electrical connector, under the dash.
