The discussed models use two control systems, a manual type of control system on the one hand and a logical type on the other hand (electronic). The logic controls are provided with a row of push buttons operating the heater and A/C Switch, a fan switch, and air mix lever by depending on one air MIX wire and electricity switches to perform other functions, and the actuators are electrically driven instead of mechanical, operating at the blower and heater units. In models with manual wire-type controls, this will start by disconnecting the negative battery cable and then removing several panels and the heater control assembly by disconnecting the corresponding wires. In electronic controlled models, the center trim is pulled away and the control unit is pulled off and disconnected. Installation is the opposite of elimination since the wires of heater control should be properly connected and adjusted. In the years between 1990 and 1994 some of the adjustments would be to set the levers to certain positions and to check the full stroke movement of the controls and in the years 1995 to 1996 the same adjustments will be done except that the continuity of the electrical connectors should also be checked. On models with logic controls, the MIX wire is adjusted and several switches are continuity checked and voltage checked and particular procedures are given on the continuity and voltage check of each switch. Finally, the models that have wire-type controls have to be adjusted in the airflow and air mix wires, and the dashboard controls must be moved to their full travel.
