Unplug the cable in the negative battery post and engage the parking brake lifting the car and holding it firmly on jackstands. On 2007 and older models, take out the pin retainers of the inner fender splash shield, take away the splash shield out of the front bumper area, and remove the front bumper cover pushpin type retainers. Detach the connector of the fog lamp (when fitted), the lower bolts of the bumper cover and the pin-shaped retainers on the front of the bumper cover. Once the two upper bumper cover mounting bolts have been removed, remove the front bumper mounting nuts and pull the bumper out of the car. In the case of the rear bumper cover, the pin retainers of the inner fender splash shield should be removed and pushed completely away and the screws of the rear bumper cover mounting removed out of the quarter panel. Take off the pin-type retainers below and the rear bumper cover mounting bolts then remove the rear bumper mounting nuts and the rear bumper. On 2008 and 2012 models, loosen the screws on the front bumper with removing the front wheels, then loosen the pushpins and bolts holding the front bumper cover. Disassemble the wiring of the parking sensor and fog lamps, unscrew the four buttons at the upper corners of the grille, unscrew the bumper by the fenders, and then proceed to remove the bumper cover with a lot of care. In the case of the rear bumper cover, ensure that you remove the rear wheels in case of need, remove the screws on the central part of the car, and remove the splash shields before removing the bumper cover. In 2013 and subsequent models, detach the front wheels, engine front under cover, fenderwell splash shields and outer trim. Close the front bumper covering lower retaining bolts, disconnect electrical connector and remove the upper cover straps. Before removing the bumper cover, ensure that you pull the bumper cover ends without the fenders and the headlight housing clips. STEP 20 relating to the front bumper, once the cover has been removed, unscrew any wiring dendrites, remove the bumper-to-subframe bolts and the bumper lower mounting nuts and then take off the front bumper. To install the rear bumper, lift up and hold the rear of the car, and unscrew the taillight casings so you can access concealed bolts, then remove the fenderwell splash plate and molding. Unscrew the bumper electrical connector at the back, loosen the screws holding the bumper on the car at the bottom and loosen the rear bumper off the car. In models with a trailer tow package, remove the retaining bolts on either side of the bumper, disconnect the electrical connector (where present) and slide the bumper/hitch out to remove it.
