Mazda 3 Clutch Release Bearing Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to remove and install the clutch release bearing on Mazda 3?
    A:
Do not permit the contact of the brake fluid with the paint, to the extent that it will destroy the finish. In order to replace the clutch master cylinder, do the following: remove battery cover and battery tray together with battery first. The second step involves removing the mounting nuts of the reality pedal under the dashboard and removing the steering shaft joint. Lay hides the inside to keep it dry, and then dis-connect the clutch master cylinder reservoir hose with the clutch master cylinder by pressing the tab and removing the line and capping or plugging either end of the line to keep the inside dry. An hydraulic line locking clip must then be removed to the clutch master cylinder and the line removed, taking note of the fact that a seal ring will either fall off or stay attached to the clutch release cylinder side. To get clearance in the assembly, push the clutch pedal assembly back, and turn the locking collar of the clutch master cylinder counterclockwise, to free it out of the pedal assembly. In order to remove the clutch master pushrod off the clutch pedal, a blade screwdriver is needed to push the end tab on both sides of the pushrod, which is then removed off the pedal. In order to install it, one should insert the master cylinder into its place on the pedal assembly and depress the pushrod until the tabs connect with the pedal. Turn clockwise the lock ring of the clutch master cylinder to fit, then the locking clip needs to be inserted into the master cylinder and the hydraulic line fitting needs to be attached making sure that the item clips in place and that the seal ring is correctly positioned. Install the master reservoir line to the master cylinder until the locking tab clicks then give the line a pull back to ensure it is installed correctly. Install the pedal assembly and screw the mounting nuts in to the desired tightness and after that attach the reservoir line end to the brake master cylinder. Shaft of steering is reconnected, then finish installation by inverting the steps of removal. Lastly, pour in the reservoir of brake fluid that meets the requirements of DOT 3 and bleed the brakes.
