Mazda Alternator Brush

The Mazda Alternator Brush is a simple but essential part that ensures a constant flow of electrical energy. It will protect the life of your battery while supporting every electronic feature in your Mazda. Mazda is a global nameplate that has earned its reputation through sharp KODO styling coupled with engines that balance lively response with low fuel use. It squeezes more power from every drop of petrol while keeping emissions in check. Mazda drivers love how they can feel the models agile on a twisting road while the i-ACTIVSENSE safety assists bring confidence in daily traffic. Mazda seeks to improve the balance of efficiency, excitement and practicality by experimenting with hybrids, full electric power and intelligent all-wheel drive. Inside each alternator, you will find a little part called an Alternator Brush. This part has been smartly designed. Constructed from conductive carbon material, the Alternator Brush comes into contact with slip rings that rotate to enable field current to excite the rotor while allowing the stator to create the alternating current that will later power lights, infotainment and ignition. The steady contact between the voltage regulator and the battery supplies smooth direct current to the delicate electronics and protects them from surges. On every trip, the battery gets fully charged. It takes only minutes to do a regular inspection, but it can save the cost of an alternator replacement. Since the friction effect slowly shortens the brush, regular checks and replacements will help prevent charging gaps and extend the life of the alternator, which is an easy step to take. Furthermore, this preserves the reliable performance that all Mazda drivers have come to expect from their vehicles across the entire lineup.

You'll get great performance and real durability when you pick genuine OEM Alternator Brush. Mazda builds these using high-quality materials and official factory methods to ensure they hold up mile after mile. You deserve that Mazda reliability without the headache of cheap knockoffs. It is easy to find exactly what you need in our huge inventory of genuine parts. Plus, every OEM part carries a real manufacturer's warranty for your peace of mind. You will love our low prices too. Order today and we will ship your brand-new parts fast. They often reach your door in just a few days.

Mazda Alternator Brush Parts and Q&A

  • Q:
How do Voltage Regulator relate to replacing alternator brush on Mazda MPV?
    A:
Removing the alternator to replace the alternator brushes: First, remove the alternator and label halves on the alternator so that they can be fixed back in place. Then remove the front pulley, and once again, in case there are no air power tools, remove it in an auto service establishment. Unscrew the four bolts which hold the front cover on to the main assembly, then take great care in removing the front cover off the alternator main assembly, being careful not to scratch the main assembly. Make sure that the stator is clamped to the rear cover, and in case the halves are not easily separable, hold the rear part in a vise with a rag in case it gets damaged. Then proceed to take out the rotor, the rectifier and the brush holder mounting screws then disassemble the rear part with the rotor and rectifier/brush assembly. With a soldering iron clean the solder off the brush holder component, without over heating the rectifier. Prior to disassembling, measure the length of the old brushes and must not be more than 0.315 inches and check the brush spring force with a gauge should have a reading of 8.5 ounces at 0.079 inches. In reassembling, insert the brushes in the holder and fasten them with a straightened paper clip. Removal is the opposite of installation which is making sure that the holes of the bolts are aligned and the long bolt is installed at first. Lastly, do not forget to take out the wire holding the brushes together on reassembly. In the case of the rectifier, remove the alternator, decouple the brush holder and rectifier and using an ohmmeter, check continuity on the diodes to determine a shorted diode. Reassembling is done in reverse order so that the wire is pulled out at the end of the process.
