Removing and installing rocker arm assemblies of different engine sizes To install and remove the rocker arm assemblies, start with a cold engine, and the hood raised, with the fenders covered. Discover the required cables, as well as the spark plug wires, and unwind the rocker cover and scrap the gasket. On the 1.586CC, 1,796cc and 1,970cc, carefully loosen the attaching bolts of the rocker arm shaft and the shafts themselves, insert the rocker arm assemblies, temporarily tighten the cylinder head bolts and sexually adjust the valves. Clean the mating area, change a new gasket, tighten the bolts and reconnect the spark plug wires and cables. With the 1,998cc engine, repeat the steps, making sure that the adjustments of the check valves are fine. The 2.184CC engine has bolts of the rocker shafts, and these must be removed keenly, and during installation, they must be put in their right position. In the case of the 2,209cc Diesel, remove the pushrods in sequence and be sure that they fit back in place. The engine 2,555CC requires special tool to hold automatic lash adjusters and the dismantling process requires all parts to be arranged in order. The 2,606cc engine too should have particular care concerning the lash adjusters that have to be substituted in case taken out. When disassembling all engines, label parts, and do not hammer them, they may easily be distorted, soak hard pieces in a lubricant where needed. Once everything has been cleaned and every piece has been checked as regards to wear and damage, put back together in the same order but take care that the proper torque specifications and adjustments are established.
