To remove and install the suspension strut rod for models built from 1966 to 1989, first unbolt it from the lower arm and the frame. Be careful to not change the position of the double nut at the rear of the suspension strut rod bushing as this will affect caster. When you replace it, torque the bushing end nut to 90 ft lbs. The bolts securing the lower arm end exert a force of 85 ft. lbs.
