- Q: How to remove and install the Harmonic Balancer on Mazda B2200?A:Removal and installation of the fan shroud are done by first removing the same. In engines that have a separate pulley, remove the retaining bolts and remove the pulley that is attached to the vibration damper. The second step is to remove the harmonic balancer retaining bolt. Use a puller to remove the balancer on the crankshaft. When installing, make sure that the key slot of the pulley hub goes into the crankshaft key, and so reassemble in the same order as they were removed. Tighten harmonic balancer retaining bolt(s) as per the following specification: 4.0L engine, plus an extra, 3.0L engine; 2.6L engine (1987-88); for the 2.6L engine (1989-93); and for the 2.2L engine.
